Some years ago someone invented a device called the Salad Spinner. The concept is to place a washed amount of salad greens in a container with a special lid. One presses repeatedly on a pump device on top of the lid to engage an inner porous container to whirl around rapidly, causing the excess water to fly off out through the holes of the inner container, and drying the greens. When one pumps very fast, the inner container will continue to spin until it gradually loses momentum and comes to a stop.
