“Greetings! This is Guan Yin speaking.

This is a subject dear to my heart, and to the heart of the being through whom these teachings flow, though for slightly different reasons.

The positive spin comes from the teachings of Master Sha and other enlightened teachers, that the essence of truth, Tao life, the Source indwells everything and everyone. If you can see that what looks out from every pair of eyes that you encounter is what looks out of your eyes, then you are on the way to mastering this concept that all is truly one. One perfect life. One Divine awareness.

Many humans who do not possess this level of perception see nature and the animal kingdom as something beneath them, and do not believe that they have souls or feelings. Therefore they feel free to harm and exploit as they like. This attitude and emptiness of compassion causes great suffering, and generates enormous karma. This lack of understanding of the natural world is greatly responsible for the rising events of a dark nature on the planet earth. The horrors of factory farming, and laboratory testing of God’s creatures are distressing to think of, unconscionable.

Humans tend to have either a rosy outlook on the animal kingdom, all bunnies and flowers, or are dismissive of it. The level of animal life is brutal and difficult, even without the harm and interference of humans. The prime directive is always food, finding a mate, and avoiding violence and death.

Karmically speaking, the beings that incarnate into the animal world have caused harm and suffering to others in ways that have caused them to incarnate as animals. They are paying debt, as do all beings in the yin/yang world of illusion. Some might say, well, let them do that. Why should I go out of my way to save and protect them?

Others, more wise, say, assisting any living thing to be happier and healthier, protected, fed, free from parasites and danger, not only benefits the souls they help, but blesses their own karmic journey as well.

Which thing do you think might be better to choose?

On the whole humans misunderstand animals almost completely. Research and observation shows that animals have complex emotional lives and responses to their environment. Humans are mostly deaf to their language. Animals experience and express savagery and violence, of course. Grief, loneliness, boredom, love, affection and depression are also on their menu here on the earth. A great number of animals mate for life, and with a few exceptions, animals play.

Compassion is a powerful energy to bring to animals. Simply offering love is so important. Do you think that if you raise your hand and open your heart to say,

“I love you, God bless you.”

to an animal, that it is not heard and felt? Of course it is.

No love is lost, no blessing wasted.

It takes courage also to advocate for the creatures of the earth, speaking firmly to a being that is harming an animal could turn that being’s anger and pain towards you. Can you stand unflinching and offer love? You may greatly admire those who wade in to places you would fear to tread to aid and succor helpless animals. It is a difficult job.

Include the mute ones in your practices of love and compassion. They will hear you, and thank you. So will God.

That is all, I love you.”
