Kuan Yin Speaks. Quicken thou me
--
“Greetings! This is Kuan Yin.
Quicken is a wonderful word that can signify what happens when a new life comes to a mother’s body, or when anything or anyone is brought to a higher state of aliveness, renewal, back to life.
In the Bible, it has meant when beings come to be aligned with, and lit up with the Christ spirit.
“Quicken thou me in thy way, Oh Lord.”
..
Another way of putting it might to be, that when you are in a state of spiritual alertness, hooked up to the Infinite Divine Beloved, you are quickened to that light.
When you are in a state of true selfless service, what do you experience? Do you feel that upswelling of joy and gratitude that is the quickened way?
Master Sha’s master Teachers have described that during periods of spiritual testing when they have felt ill or exhausted, in pain of any kind, that goes away when they are serving unconditionally.
..
We may have all seen people who have had a passion in life, music or art, but who are failing in health or mental acuity. These beings may seem to hardly be able to function at all, until they are seated at a piano, handed a pair of dancing shoes or stand up to sing. Then, as if by magic, they become upright, smiling, filled with life and being-ness, and do that thing that they have loved so much in life as if it had never gone away. They are quickened by that muscle memory and joy that may have so greatly blessed their life.
..
What does this tell us? That when we are not “me”, in the little world, but the larger “One with all”, we are clear, clean, open. When we are teaching, writing, singing, dancing, offering healing and counsel, we are present to that space of quickened energy. We are whole. When we serve through any of the gifts that have been blessed to us, whatever that might be, we are enlivened by the true spirit of God.
..
It is possible to see beings walking along the street or sitting somewhere, so removed from the present moment in their mind that they hardly seem to be there at all, like an empty shadow being or a little dark cloud. This seems to be a truly tragic waste of a life. What does it take to shake a deeply asleep being back to life? Well, serve them. Shake them. Wake them. Love them. Their lives depend on it.
..
There has been an ingenious device on Mother Earth called a Coleman Lantern. Its usage may have evolved over the years, but in the beginning it was fueled by kerosene. There was a little tank at the bottom that was filled with this substance, and then a pump was utilized to pressurize the tank.
(From, “How Stuff Works” website)
”Gas lanterns are incandescent lights. They burn a fuel like propane, white gas or kerosene to produce heat, and the heat causes the mantles to produce light. The mantles are a ceramic mesh that encase the flame produced by the lantern.
Mantles start out as silk fabric sacks impregnated with different oxides. The standard for decades has been the Welsbach mantle, which uses a mixture of thorium oxide, cerium oxide and magnesium oxide.
When the mantle is installed, you ignite the silk, which burns away and leaves behind a brittle ceramic shell. This shell is extremely efficient at producing light because of the chemicals it contains and the large surface area of the mesh.”
It really is quite clever. These lanterns burn a long time, and give off a lot of light. They also make noise, a low comforting hum hiss that feels like company.
.
The point of this is to illustrate that after preparation and ignition, the lamp is quickened to bright, constant light and heat. What was needed? The device, the fuel, the pressure, the igniting flame. What is needed for you to fully ignite, to quicken?
The device… is you.
.
The fuel? Your spiritual practice and strong connection to the Divine.
.
The pressure? The thumb in your back that is your own over soul impelling you forward to service and waking.
.
The ignition? Your voice, your action, your love.
.
You can choose in this moment whether to be that little shadow self, dragging along lifetime after lifetime, or that bright quickened lamp of a being.
The state of enlightened awareness in every moment is a thing of value. Anything else is wasted time, wasted life. You don’t have to be a saint or a guru, though you can be, just a beautiful human serving its way home.
That is all. I love you.”
