Kuan Yin Speaks. There is one door

“Hello! This is Kuan Yin.

The being through whom these teachings express received this guidance during Ah Mi Tuo Fo (Buddha of infinite Light, infinite Life) chanting meditation this morning.

“There is one access to the world that you aspire to dwell in. That access is stillness. You truly have no grasp of the enormity, magnificence and solemnity of the spiritual beings that you so glibly invoke, and the great teacher. In stillness you might begin to catch a glimmer. Even a tiny image of the sunburst beingness of the holy ones can, and should, stun you into absolute wordlessness and profound humility.”

This is true and powerful guidance. There is not one thing that you can bring to this table with your mortal thoughts and words. As long as humans are experiencing the illusion world it is difficult to go to this place, but not impossible.

A master teacher once related a story that the first time he actually saw me, Kuan Yin, in his physical perception, was a fleeting image going around a corner in a grocery store. That may be all you get, but wouldn’t that be enough to impel you to pay attention? The same holds with meditation, you might meditate for a lifetime, and count on one hand the times you felt that you really connected with the Divine. Once is enough to open the door, if you persevere.

How do we go to stillness, a realization of a higher frequency awareness in our everyday life? It must start there, because that’s what you’ve got. Now is all there is. If you are anywhere future or past you are wasting your time here. Start now, if you haven’t already, to create spaces, oases of present moment awareness and invite Tao to fill that space. Let go and let Tao, or whatever you choose to call the Infinite Divine Beloved.

This means interrupting the mind of delusion.

The first step in changing a behavior is to stop it. We have discussed establishing mental and spiritual habits that can liberate us from ego mind, and one more tool is to vigorously speak to your mind when you perceive that it is off on a tear of some kind. There is no bottom to egoic mind behaviors in humans, but you can help yourself by starting the habit of,

“Stop that! Thank you.”

Speak in this way to your thinking mind.

This can create a space that you will fill with something else that you would rather have going on.

This command intimates that you have the upper hand, like any good trainer. You will be coming from a higher place of intention and authority, from your soul. Your soul likes a quiet space that it can fill with itself, with wisdom, living Divine Presence, and Light.

Another thing to consider as we embark on this practice of Stop that! is to realize that in some way you derive pleasure from the monkey mind chatter. It’s easy, it flows by itself, it is continuous, 99% negative, and leads to a trance state of comparing, judging, fault-finding and subtle anger. It is always in the future or the past, and is what could be called empty calories. There is no nourishment in it, it helps no one, including you.

Creating a space for higher consciousness and energy requires discipline. Disentanglement from the clinging seaweed of mortal mind nonsense can take time and commitment.

One of the big entanglements is paying attention to the news. With all the best intentions, we might watch even a few moments of the great stage of politics, war and disaster, and the next thing you know you are feeling dark waves of outrage or pessimism. One might say,

“Yes, but we need to know what’s happening!”

..

Not necessarily. Whatever is happening in the world is going to happen, with or without your attention and participation.

Buddhism teaches that the earth plane is the

“Bitter Sea. Red dirt, birth, sick, old and die.”

..

As long as there is the mortal dream state it will be what it is. You do not help by contributing to the ocean waves of negativity. When you agree with or align with it, you become it. Of course be aware of your immediate environment, if there’s a flood or a fire headed your way you would want to prepare for that. Preparedness for all possible events is vital, but do you see the distinction?

If you feel a sense of,

“But that person is evil! He is doing wrong!”

Mind, Stop That. Thank you.

Fill that space with an offering of love. It is true that hate begets hate, love begets love, and surely ignorance brings more ignorance. What does it cost you to say,

“I offer this being my love.”

..

If you feel that it does cost you, then self-examination might be a good option.

..

All the little self-serving and aggrieved statements that roll through the mind are sometimes so quiet, like a little stream of water that pours through unnoticed.

Why can’t she just do the dishes after lunch?

He didn’t need to say that, I’m right!

What a nerd.

That newscaster is getting a little chubby….

That person drove right in front of me on purpose. I know it. Outta my way!

There’s not enough.

There’s too much.

I don’t like you.

I look a million years old.

blah blah blah. Like a low level infection, it drains a person of vitality and purpose. Have a watch of your thought process for an hour and see.

Train yourself to expand these spaces of illuminated quiet until it becomes your preferred state of being, a place of balance, true joy, union. You don’t need to talk or think, you really don’t. Do you feel the ego mind’s panic at such a radical notion? It will fade. Just like a dream fades when you wake from it.

What a fabulous adventure! Just like finding a great hidden treasure. That’s what it is, and it is right there all the time, within you.

That is all, I love you.”

This teaching was expressed through Kristin Strachan, Kuan Yin Lineage Holder, student of Master Zhi Gang Sha, teacher, and spiritual practitioner in Colorado. I am very blessed.
